most stunning countryside, with moors, dales and rivers and an abundance of fauna and flora....


The Wensleydale Railway - Take a trip on the lovingly restored railway between Leeming Bar and Redmire via
Bedale and Leyburn, passing through some of the most magical scenery in the Yorkshire Dales. The 17 mile trip takes approximately 50 minutes. Trains are normally formed of heritage diesel railcars from the 1960s.
There is a regular connecting bus service between Northallerton Railway Station and Leeming Bar Station run

The Little Chocolate Shop -  where you can watch our luxury chocolates being created. You will learn all about
the fascinating world of chocolate and have the chance to buy delicious gifts in our beautiful shop. Great fun

The Hawes Ropemaker -  a long-established family firm of rope and braid makers based in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales countryside. Manufacturing and supplying a wide range of ropes, braids, cords and other related products for markets all over the world. Call in and watch how they are made.

Bolton Castle, built in 1379,  where Mary, Queen of Scots was once imprisoned.  With its maze and formal and
Herb gardens, Bolton Castle is one of the country's best preserved fortresses.

Forbidden Corner at Tupgill Park ~ This four acre walled garden - a 20th century `folly` with its chambers and
 passages under the grotto was created originally for family and friends but soon became an exciting tourist
attraction with thousands of visitors, of all ages, from all over the world.  Admission is by ticket only which can

Wensleydale Creamery - Hawes  - With a museum portraying the history of Wensleydale cheese making and

The Tea Pottery - Leyburn - purpose built pottery studio and showroom where tea-pots are made in every shape and style except ones that look like teapots!  Admission is free and there is a tea room and gift shop.
